The U.S. Supreme Court is a dumpster fire.
-- Supreme Court justices used personal emails for work
-- ‘burn bags’ were left open in hallways,
-- Staff afraid to confront justices on bad security practices

Almost all GOP officials quietly wish Trump would go away. They just don't have a strategy for how to do that --- besides hope. https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2023/01/2024-republican-primary-donald-trump-deus-ex-machina/672888/

OUTRAGEOUS: George Santos has been accused of sexually harassing a staffer.
#GeorgeSantos has seen more scandal in a few days and weeks than most elected officials will see in a lifetime.

@Lunatech I love coca cola, but I don't think they have HFCS here, it's just not an European thing.
Though I switched over to the supermarket sugar-free brand that almost tastes as good and is half the price...
I'll always love Coca Cola.. and will just get it when I'll eat out (which is maybe once a year, heh).
Also, real fruit juice isn't really that healthy or good for you. Maybe a bit if they are pulpy, but otherwise they're almost as bad as normal sodapop. You're better off eating fruit as-is, or just drink water/tea.
If you like Coca-Cola but believe High Fructose Corn Syrup is bad for you (or just doesn't taste good) then watch for bottles with the yellow caps - they are only available at this time of year.
(Or, you could just drink something that tastes good and is actually good for you, like real fruit juice).

It's not working everywhere. Ex. Kiel, WI, which was cited in that bad NYT article on education, just rejected their superintendent and far right school board members. https://www.postcrescent.com/story/news/education/2023/01/31/kiel-residents-rebuke-far-right-school-board-members/69848066007/
The US promised the Cherokee Nation a seat in Congress in a treaty that fueled the Trail of Tears. 188 years later, the Cherokee say lawmakers may finally fulfill that promise.

Florida is creating the playbook on education for at least half the country. Now, TFG has revealed his education plan, and he’s clearly going beyond even Florida. This is a deeply disturbing movement that more closely aligns with the Soviet Union or Germany under fascism. Yet, it’s getting a strong positive response in places. I don’t think educators or the opposition in general have figured out an effective alternative rhetoric. This is about dismantling education

77.7% of Black students borrow.
50% default within 12 years.
No one cares.
Much of the $1.6 trillion debt is held by Black students. Yes, I said trillion. With a "T." And yes, I said "debt held by Black kids," who are hired less and paid less.
The unspoken part of the US student loan forgiveness "debate," is racists thinking "I am fundamentally opposed to anything that would lower the suffering of Black people or prevent the siphoning of their wealth."
What could possiblie go wrong?

We are constantly pouring money into equipment we don't need because members of Congress don't want to lose those jobs in their district. Take the Abrams tanks, for example, this is from the 2nd time Congress overruled DOD, purchasing tanks we didn't need https://www.military.com/daily-news/2014/12/18/congress-again-buys-abrams-tanks-the-army-doesnt-want.html
Did you know that American police officers receive the fewest hours of training in the developed world? Are you aware that their training emphasizes violence much more than police training in other countries? Did you know that Americans are vastly more likely to die in the hands of police than citizens in any other democratic country--no matter what their race?
Those are just a few of the things I discovered researching this article.
