@mmasnick @nathan I've been in content moderation professionally for years, and banning people who abuse mods is pretty standard. Sure, you do need a reasonably thick skin, but I don't think the standard should be that being a mod, in addition to being hard work for little or no pay, means you just have to take abuse.

Not commenting on any part of the situation at masto dot lol, just on the general concept of what being a mod means.

Lol. After listening to this podcast interview of Joshua Browder (ht: @Colarusso ) it just confirms for me that he's beyond dishonest. He totally misrepresents the issues @kathryntewson raised (repeatedly), does not address the actual concerns, and flat out ADMITS that he faked the date on a donation receipt.
