This is objectively very funny.

Twitter is falling apart. I currently can’t follow anyone or post anything. In the midst of this, Musk had a meeting to find out why his engagement is plummeting.

An engineer looked into the code, found no issues, and speculated it’s because he’s less popular.

Musk fired him on the spot. 👶🏼

More great bird-site coverage from @caseynewton and @zoeschiffer, in which they break down how it's breaking down under Elon Musk's erratic reign:

“As the adage goes, ‘you ship your org chart,’” said one current employee. “It’s chaos here right now, so we’re shipping chaos.”

Looking over some of the responses to yesterday's House Oversight Hearing, I am perplexed, though not surprised, that many people are insisting it accomplished what it absolutely did not.

In actuality, it debunked the GOP talking points, and revealed that Trump wanted to censor people. Yet, I'm seeing people claim (falsely) that it proved how old Twitter censored conservatives.

The main thing #DeSantis needs to do to win is to have the national media continue to normalize him with horse race coverage & op-eds about his “maverick nature & his “unorthodox” style (mastodon.social/@mcopelov/1098), so that by the time we reach November 2024, and the inevitable coin flip that all presidential elections are in our system, voters have been primed to believe he is not also a far right authoritarian.

It’s 2015-16 all over again. Sigh.

“Well, let’s be honest. We all knew that Matt Gaetz would never let the vote get to 18,” said Mace. The joke about Gaetz’s alleged sexual relationship with a 17-year-old drew shocked reactions from the crowd.

“I do have a message for Matt this evening. He really, really wanted to be here tonight, but he couldn’t find a babysitter — to be his date, I mean. Come on.”

Prior to 1982, stock buybacks were considered stock manipulation. It was Reagan's SEC that opened the floodgates to their abuse.

Stock buybacks don’t create more jobs. They don't increase wages. They don’t grow the economy.

They do one thing: Make corporate execs richer.
