To be clear, I’m a huge VR proponent, and own a Vive VR rig. I spent a lot of time in Second Life back in the day, and look forward to a really good meta-verse being developed for VR.

It's the NFT thing I take issue with. Making that part of your product tells me you are chasing fads and buzzwords, and not thoughtfully considering the world's best interests.

I'm sorry members of the Murdaugh family were murdered and Alex Murdaugh lied, but at a time our planet is frying and democracy is under attack here and abroad - why are the networks spending so much time covering this one $&@% trial?

Can't help but think of the #flatpak decision by #Ubuntu as extremely similar to the old #Microsoft strategy "Embrace, extend, and extinguish".

I run Ubuntu on the main workstation simply due to wanting to maximizing compatibility. I'm "Linux on the desktop" only and some lazy software providers think they're done with #Linux support once it works on Ubuntu.

Which in it self supports the overall worry about Ubuntu's effect on Linux.

The two contenders imho are #Debian (of course) and #RedHat. I lot of the professional work I do is on RH but my opinion is that it's a server flavor much more than a good desktop. Otoh on my main desktop I really don't want to spend too much time fiddling about to get things working - which is what I think choosing Debian will lead to.
