Life after religion is a wild ride.
Realising things about yourself in your 40s that most people realised about themselves in their teens is quite something.
Tyre Nichols can be heard crying out, "Stop, I’m not doing anything” and “I’m just trying to go home," as Memphis police officers beat and kick him.

To understand why so many Americans have such contempt for the pharmaceutical industry, read this NY Times explainer on how a company gamed the patent system to enrich executives and shareholders -- and rip off everyone else. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/01/28/business/humira-abbvie-monopoly.html
The thing is, what the company did is legal. So if you're looking for who made it possible for sleazy corporations to do this, look at Congress, too.
Trump's secretly funneled $1 million dollars to help fund the Arizona Cyber Ninjas fraudit, using several shell companies to hide his tracks. This is yet another clear violation of the law. Add it to the list, Jack Smith. https://youtu.be/9gsS2My8S0w
White supremacy is having empathy for the insurrectionist white woman killed by police for trying to overthrow the government but having scorn for the innocent Black man beat to death by police as he called for his mom while just trying to get home.

Trump Made Secret $1M Donation to Arizona 'Audit' Trying To Overturn Election
One of the enduring mysteries surrounding the chaotic attempts to overturn Donald Trump's defeat in the 2020 presidential race results has been solved: who made a secret $1m donation to the controversial election "audit" in Arizona?
Now the Guardian can reveal that the person who partially bankrolled the failed attempt to prove that the election was stolen from Trump was … Trump.

Just wanted to provide an update to this. I actually responded back to him in a very civil way, and he/she responded back much more politely. I've noticed this trend in general:
Upset person comes in guns blazing.
I respond by giving this person a big hug.
Person initially confused, but then defuses and gives a light hug back.
Doesn't always work, but most of the time it does! It can be hard, but always be kind to people! Especially to those who aren't kind to you. They need it most.
I have said it before, I will say it again: Assuming the courts don't stop these faith-based government agents like DeSantis, there is JUST ONE immediate course of action that might stop this insanely dangerous zealotry of state-sanctioned book-banning:
We pressure 10 major universities to declare an emergency and immediately deny student applications from states #editingHistory for political aims. It will work in a matter of weeks. But it won't after two years of normalization. #ActNow
@meltedcheese I live in Florida. Your average Republican parent here doesn't often run around boasting about sending their kids to FSU or Broward Community College. Anyone with a mega yacht, or works for the owner of one (about 1/4th of our population), talks Ivy League schools, or nothing. It would create instant panic pressure from their status-driven kids, too.
I started to learn about #opensource #osint due to the War on #ukraine. I attempt to be very discriminating regarding what I read and see on social media. This site NewsLit.org has wonderful quizzes #quizzes to test the ability to tell if it’s fake or not. newslit.org/tips-tools/tool-ty...

- Huang believes that to truly unleash innovation that betters everyone, we must replace our current patent and #copyright culture with one that truly values making products better...and to encourage them to demand a return of the “permissionless ecosystem” that nurtured so many great ideas. -

Reminder: health care workers and teachers died in droves during the height of the pandemic.
The rich responded by launching media campaigns against their requests for pay increases.
The rich are orchestrating a recession by demanding tech and media layoffs.
