Even when I'm being paid to wait for it to stop spinning, I hate that fucking beach ball!

The Fed raised interest rates again. That’s the eighth consecutive hike. They say even more are coming.

This puts workers and consumers on the frontline of fighting inflation.

But corporations largely responsible for driving up prices get away scot-free.

It's outrageous.

Mike Pence: ‘We’ve got to have a conversation’ about reforming Social Security. Saying that 70% of government spending is on entitlement programs, Pence asserted, “And the truth is we’ve got to have a conversation.”

The vast majority of voter would disagree that a discussion is necessary regarding SS—especially considering that the source of the money is the recipients and their employers. We think the discussion should be about tax rates for the wealthy and corporations.

WaPo (Opinion): “The 1619 Project” is not divisive or anti-American. It’s about showing Black Americans what we’ve been through and what we’re capable of and honoring those, Black and White, who sacrificed so much so that we could continue our fight against racism. Teaching Black history is about showing us, after all we’ve been through and are still going through, that we are all truly Americans."

The next time a journalist quotes Musk claiming he loves free speech and transparency -- but fails to note that Musk's actions contradict that claim -- should go into PR and stop pretending.

I'm involved in a project that uses the Twitter and Reddit APIs to help journalists send corrections/updates down the same social media pathways as the original story. With Musk and minions pulling the plug there, we're urgently investigating fediverse/Mastodon possibilities. I wish journalists would do that, too, because we could really help them out with this tool.

We added more than half a million jobs to our economy in January, exceeding expectations by a long shot.

We’re building an America we can take pride in – one where working families have good-paying jobs and more breathing room.

There was some mystery surrounding this bill, and I was wondering what they would do to make it worse, so here it is: once it passes, DeSantis will be able to hold future WDW Orlando projects hostage if the corporation at large doesn’t demonstrate an appropriate level of fealty and cater to his whims. wsj.com/articles/florida-lawma

@TonyStark the press isn't doing the job of informing us that we want and need and then insists that we pay them to continue posting garbage "infotainment". I'm done with it.

In 1985, Neil Postman wrote the book “Amusing Ourselves to Death,” where he observes, predicts, and warns about behaviors and trends that would lead Americans to become an empty people incapable of real thought and intolerant to anything that isn’t entertaining. Correctly, he worried that the USA would devolve into a dystopia where citizens demanded news, education, and politics to be amusing above all else and coverage of real, impactful issues would fall away.

When these two headlines appear in the same publication on the same day, I think we’re getting there if we’re not already. If the administration is trying to talk about their real accomplishments and the press covering them wants to shut that down by pretending it’s a waste of time, let’s just say, and yes this is an understatement, that these two matters are related.

There are 193 member nations in the United Nations.

All but 11 guarantee some form of paid sick leave.

Guess what? The U.S. is one of those 11.

As a result, 33 million American workers have no paid sick leave from their employer.

This is deeply inhumane. Paid leave. Now.

Gov DeSantis is "investigating" the COVID vaccines. He cited studies showing an increase in youth cardiac deaths. I read the studies, and what they actually showed was that youth heart attacks rose before vaccines, and were caused by COVID infections.

President #Biden will call for expanding a new cap on #insulin prices to all Americans as part of his State of the Union address, the White House said today.

He had imposed a $35/month limit on insulin that took effect in January. But it only applied to #Medicare beneficiaries.

Biden is now expected to renew his push for the policy to be applied to anyone with an insulin prescription, per the White House.
