During the Battle of Saratoga in the American Revolutionary War, the US captured a cannon from the British, which they named the Burgoyne Cannon.

35 years later in the War of 1812, the British recaptured it during the fall of Detroit. One year later, the Americans recaptured it in the Battle of the Thames.

It is currently on display in the Kentucky Military History Museum.
