We’re going to court TOMORROW to defend the digital rights of all libraries! Library Futures will be hosting a live blog during oral argument and a live discussion afterwards. Here's how to participate: http://blog.archive.org/2023/03/17/heres-how-to-participate-in-mondays-oral-arguments/

Tomorrow my daughter turns 24 and I don't think I've ever felt older.

Didn't she used to fit in the crook of my arm?

I've been lurking here for months, time for an #introduction post.

I'm a #scienceFiction #writer, currently working on a #biopunk / #cyberpunk / #artificialIntelligence series.

Other interests include #weaving, #watercolor, #narrativeGames, #gameDev and #gameDesign, and whatever my brain has decided is fascinating this week.

TBH, I stopped posting to any form of social media years ago, and I'm not entirely sure what I'll post here or how often, but hi.

I saw dozens of #bushtits on the trail yesterday. These tiny, chatty, long-tailed little puffballs are seemingly never still or quiet, but somehow they call out the stillness in me. I love to stand in the midst of them and watch them flit back, forth, up, and around me in their busy, homespun grace. Simple, lovely little birds.

HAUNTED FOR LIFE!

For the rest of his life, Putin will be limited in where he can travel.

As a wanted man by the ICC, Putin will face arrest if he ever travels to a country within the ICC's jurisdiction!

Couldn't happen to a more deserving criminal!

Is Malcolm on Masto? This is absolutely epic!

Not gonna happen. Putin uses him as a tool, but has no benefit to give him sanctuary.

TFG is accompanied by US Secret Service 24/7 as well as by world wide press.

A judge would order surrendering passport under a release agreement.

Our financial system depends on confidence that banks are sound.

But in the decade following the '08 financial crisis and subsequent milquetoast reform efforts, confidence has been shaky.

How to address this? Bring back Glass-Steagall.

“A real man would say he can beat an indictment because he’s innocent and would call for calm. A real man would care more about the safety of his fellow Americans and not project the law coming for him onto his supporters. A real man cares more for others than himself.

He is not a real man. He’s a thin-skinned coward and a crook. And the law applies to every American, rich or poor. Famous or not.”

News from the Caternity Suite at Bradford Cat Watch Rescue & Sanctuary

You may remember on Wednesday Moonlight gave birth to 7 healthy and happy kittens with the support of her sister Midnight.

With 7 kittens we thought they had their paws full enough.... until 1am this morning when Midnight went into established labour .

Can I get an “Amen”?

Cuenca is a city set in the mountains of east-central Spain. Founded by Moors, it retains its Historic Walled Town with steep cobbled streets and medieval castle ruins. Perched on a limestone spur high above the Júcar and Huécar rivers, it's most famous for its well-preserved "casas colgadas," or hanging houses. Cantilevered over the Huécar gorge, they seemingly cling to the cliffs’ edges.

@bookstodon #books #bookstodon DROWNING PRACTICE, by @mikemeginnis is a uniquely dreamy and dynamic take on the end of the world. If you enjoyed HURRICANE GIRL, by Marcy Dermansky, or END OF THE WORLD HOUSE, by Adrienne Celt, I think this novel will definitely resonate with you as well. The author tackles themes regarding how much control we have over our lives when the world is crashing, and what will be most important to us at the end. (He also skewers narcissism, which is infinitely satisfying.)

Blocked my first instance (misskey.cf). Googled it to see what the hell it was and my anti-virus went bonkers. That's good enough for me.

Boris Johnson claimed somebody called him a 'wanker’ while he was out jogging.

Security’s sources say, after a thorough investigation, they’ve narrowed it down to 55 million people, two ex-wives, one current wife and fifteen ex-mistresses.

As luck would have it I would finally see some Roseate Spoonbills at a decent distance but they all had there heads tucked in for a nap. Perhaps because they rest on only one leg, this one wobbled a bit so I at least got a quick sight of its namesake, the spoonbill, before it tucked back into position.

GREAT to see: Manhattan DA Bragg makes it clear that MAGA Terrorists will not intimidate his office: “we do not tolerate attempts to intimidate our office or threaten the rule of law in New York.” https://politi.co/3JNgatN
