The GOP is advancing bills in Texas that could allow them to throw out future election results in Harris County, the state's largest Democratic stronghold. One bill would give the Republican Secretary of State the power to invalidate county election results and order a do-over if she "has good cause to believe" that at least 2% of polling places "ran out of usable ballots during voting hours" and "did not receive supplemental ballots." The other bills would allow the secretary of state to suspend and replace election administrators in Harris County and abolish appointed administrators in counties with a population of 3.5 million or more, which only includes Harris County. The proposed legislation comes as Republicans seek to make voting more difficult in the state and could undermine the democratic process.

Because it's been raining the whole day, I decided to make a #BakeWithJack bread I'd never baked before, because it's quite fiddly.
Dough:
225g water
10g fresh yeast
375g strong white bread flour
5gr salt
10gr olive oil
Filling:
40g lard
100gr salami (cubed)
2 hard-boiled eggs, cut small
40gr grated pecorino cheese
1tbsp chopped thyme leaves
black pepper & salt
I used fridge bacon, supermarket 'parmesan' & rosemary because I didn't want to go out to pick thyme; sue me.

If you're shocked TX Gov Abbot is planning to pardon Daniel Perry for murdering a man at a peaceful BLM march—just remember—TX is the state that sentenced a Black woman to 5 years for an uncounted ballot, but not a white male judge for deliberate voter fraud—in the same County. TX sentenced a Black kid to 10 years for punching & killing 1 person, but not an affluent white teen for getting drunk & killing 4—they had the same judge
Texas GOP has proudly chosen fascism over democracy. Believe them
@fsinn What the actual F**K? It makes me never want to step foot in Tennessee again!
Mostly reclusive and carrying slightly damaged goods. A survivor by some accounts. Definitely in need of much therapy. ;)
Staunchly anti-fascist
Bear in mind that, while I may "like" your "toot", about a person, event or particular topic, if it links to the "bird-site" I will no longer boost and inadvertently contribute to their grift. Everyone has a choice and a part to play when crimes go unpunished.
