Real-world events the NYT might otherwise frame as "Gay People in Florida Face Increasing Harassment" or "Florida Abortion Ban Leaves Women Desperate" are now exclusively presented as "DeSantis Seeks to Rally Evangelical Voters" or "DeSantis Leans Into his Anti-Woke Brand." Once you notice it it's everywhere, and it's completely toxic.

I felt constantly disrespected and bullied by my peers on Twitter – and many people felt that way towards me, without any intention on my part. That site fosters something wicked and destructive in media people. And while I know many of my colleagues (and way too many people on the tech side) have their theories, I wish I could do a study and pinpoint the exact design factors that clouded our self awareness.

However, Jordan and his allies continue to use it as a tool to undermine law enforcement and fuel mistrust, even as multiple criminal investigations involving former President Donald Trump gain momentum.
