A particularly cruel aspect of the social contagion model that was just pointed out on another site is the idea that trans youth need to be isolated from other trans kids in the hope it will make them cis.

When you think about untested, extreme interventions with potentially disastrous lifelong impacts, isolating adolescents from all their friends strikes me as one.

But no one's out there demanding evidence this works before allowing parents to try it out on vulnerable kids.

At the end of the day, these muppets know that fascism isn't popular, that nazis are not popular people, that 51% of the population is never going for this under their own free will. And so their plan is to normalize fascism, by removing all other options. If the only thing on your news, in your textbooks, in your entertainment, is fascism, then being a fascist becomes normal. And they don't CARE if you agree, because they CAN trick your kids and win that way. This is how fascism works.

Anti-women, anti-choice Republicans do not care that voters by and large favor abortion rights. While in power, they are hellbent on putting as many controls on women as possible.

Today is the 161 year anniversary of the Compensated Emancipation Act. On April 16, 1862, Washington D.C. paid reparations for ending slavery—to the enslavers.

Yep—white supremacist enslavers got reparations for giving up the people they enslaved. The enslaved got nothing. Ever.

To this day the enslaved or their descendants have received zero reparations for building the foundation of America under centuries of enslavement, torture, rape, & murder.
