Calling it a gotcha that I "critique Biden policies after voting for him" is what's wrong with US politics today.

Voting for him doesn't mean I can't critique him—it's literally the best reason to be critical. It's called holding electeds accountable. It's how democracy works. And it’s how political parties work when they aren’t cults.

Ethiopia's civil war was fought between the Ethiopian army & its allies, and rebels from the country's northern Tigray region between 2020 & 2022. It was a far more deadlier conflict than Ukraine despite the underwhelming coverage in comparison.

Over half a million people died in the conflict. The war was marked by civilian massacres, weaponized rape, systemic starvation and other crimes against humanity. A shaky peace treaty signed in November 2022 ended fighting.

One of many farmhouses on the Winterthur museum grounds. My husband and I walk here often as it's a beautifully peaceful place. Pretty sunset on the eve of this photo too.

Religions are at their most dangerous and deadly when they focus on theological purity rather than love and justice because when the emphasis is on #purity, we are looking for whom to exclude, but when we focus on #love and #justice, we are looking for whom to include.

The lily is called 百合 in Chinese, which is pronounced as bǎi hé, which has the symbolic meaning of "happy union for one hundred years”. The lily is the flower of love in China, therefor Chinese lilies are great presents for women on their wedding day.

We are a long way away from a world where people can always be safe being openly autistic. I am lucky, in my work and those who know me and quite frankly my age that I can be. I feel that it's important that as I can, I should. But that's not a choice everyone can, or should have to, make.

Decades of Silence: The Struggle for LGBTQ Holocaust Recognition

In an era where LGBTQ rights are under attack by despicable politicians like Ron DeSantis, let's not forget the decades-long struggle to include LGBTQ stories in Holocaust history. Queer survivors were silenced, persecuted, and erased from the collective memory due to their lingering criminal status post-World War II. This historical injustice highlights the dangers of selective remembrance and the continued importance of advocating for LGBTQ rights and representation, lest we unwittingly contribute to their erasure.
