Bloom like nobody’s watching ⭐️

NASA’s Aqua satellite watched the U.S. Mid-Atlantic coast dazzle with swirls of green and turquoise, in part from a phytoplankton bloom. Though phytoplankton are microscopic, large groups of them are visible from space. https://go.nasa.gov/3ngVyBJ

@hannu_ikonen My father was in the hospital for a week. He has multiple health issues that put him at risk. Not one doctor or nurse wore a mask. Guess what he tested positive for two days after he got home and was incredibly sick? COVID. It's insane that he got it at a hospital filled with medical personnel who refuse to stem the spread of COVID to the vulnerable patients they treat. He had to be hospitalized again because of the COVID he caught there in the first place.

I rode a retrofitted and stuffy school bus over this bridge in the jungle in Belize this week.

N. Carolina justices hand GOP big wins with election rulings

By GARY D. ROBERTSON
today

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — In massive victories for Republicans, the newly GOP-controlled North Carolina Supreme Court on Friday threw out a previous ruling against gerrymandered voting maps and upheld a photo voter identification law that colleagues had struck down as racially biased.

The partisan gerrymandering ruling should make it significantly easier for the Republican-dominated legislature to help the GOP gain seats in the narrowly divided U.S. House when state lawmakers redraw congressional boundaries for the 2024 elections. Under the current map, Democrats won seven of the state’s 14 congressional seats last November.

The court, which became a Republican majority this year following the election of two GOP justices, ruled after taking the unusual step of revisiting redistricting and voter ID opinions made in December by the court’s previous iteration, when...

The stated reason for not handing over F-16 is the time for training, however I am sure contract pilots who are already trained are mostly likely available. Long range missiles should have already been there. #StandWithUkraine https://thehill.com/policy/defense/3978321-these-democrats-are-leading-the-call-for-biden-to-send-jets-to-ukraine/

Good morning. ☕☕🌇

It's always morning somewhere, right now it's morning here. One thing I really enjoy about Mastodon is that it is truly an international experience. I've had conversations with people from all over, from the United States, Great Britain, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Japan, and elsewhere. This is truly remarkable, don't you think? I realize that we're tied together by pursuits, such as art and nature. Can you get a sense comradery, via digital media, with people you've never actually met?
