If anyone on here EVER needs to chat about life issues, or just needs a friend, I’m here. I’m going to be candid for a moment, I’ve dealt with depression and loneliness my whole life. I was one of the only Black students in my high school and I felt like an outcast.

I don’t want others to feel the way I did. You’ll never be an outcast with me. I’ll see you, well, for who YOU are. Anything you say will be private.

I’m here, as a friend! 💗

Death Kitty celebrated Caturday by escaping her harness today and going for an unauthorized stroll across the street.

She is bot in the least bit repentant.

There's a lot of misinformation circulating that obscures or softens Jack Dorsey's relationship to Bluesky, Bluesky to Twitter, &/or Dorsey to Musk/Twitter.

On Dec 11, 2019, Dorsey announced on Twitter that he'd started Bluesky as part of Twitter, to serve Twitter, & funded by Twitter $, "to develop an open & decentralized standard for social media." (One already existed. Clearly the goal was one he controlled.)

"The goal is for Twitter to ultimately be a client of this [Bluesky] standard."

Coffee filter collapse is a very real problem and has affected me personally. ☕️

Do we have the moral courage to fix this, or are we doomed?

Kind of a bummer to hear the story about Bluesky on NPR this morning. No mention of Mastodon when talking about people looking for alternatives to Twitter. The gist was that there was nowhere to go until Bluesky. Thin reporting. Bluesky couldn’t have paid for a better ad. #TwitterMigration #NPRNews

They're also not worried about them being murdered by an AR-15.

I think it's time to stop searching for some sort of social media beyond the Fediverse. For those praising BlueSky as something so much better than Twitter: "BlueSky Terms of Service gives Jack a 'perpetual' & 'irrevocable' license to all your content (posts, name, likeness, pics); BlueSky can delete your account for any reason, but may refuse to delete it if you ask." https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1651686218319425570.html

Texas Tax.

Texas is a confirmed oil cartel that has actively undermined all progress in the United States by engaging in "oil wars" and economic sabotage.
Texas was occupied by the US Army after the Civil War. They never got over the loss. It may be time to reconcile 140 years of Texas sabotage.

Weird how a guy charged with rape and multiple sexual assaults, tax fraud, stealing classified documents, and twice-impeached for strong-arming an ally for military support and inciting an insurrection against his own country remains the top GOP candidate for 2024.

What is wrong with people?

Henri wishes y’all a swell #Caturday evening ! #CatsOfMastodon

@atrupar Either ounces are a *lot* smaller than they were in my pot-smoking days or joints are a **lot** bigger.

(Or a GOP legislator has no friggin clue what he's talking about.)

@doctorjaymarie @cfauske The last European Monarch to have a #Coronation was in 1555. At this point, it’s more like a Geriatric Theme Park designed by Tax dodgers and Shady Constitutional Puppeteers.
So, yeah…really looking forward to it.

You keep on keepin’ on @doctorjaymarie

Be square.

I haven't quite figured out the body shape of this Rose-Breasted Grosbeak (Pheucticus ludovicianus). It's like there's a box in the stomach, at least from this angle. Both legs look like they are on the right side. I think his body is twisted a bit, giving us that perspective. But this is a good photograph. He's at the top of one of our crepe myrtles, it doesn't have leaves yet because they initially came out during a false spring and a two-day freeze after that, withered the leaves - they'll grow again.

"Rose-breasted Grosbeaks often visit bird feeders, where they eat sunflower seeds as well as safflower seeds and raw peanuts. Even if you live outside their summer range you may still catch one visiting during spring or fall migration if you keep your feeders stocked." - allaboutbirds.org
