Note: All kinds of opinions are welcome. I'm too young to know every aspect of this world, so I'm glad to hear from others despite I might not like all views. Just don't be triggering.

These are still my two most absolute favorite photos I took while in New York City a few weeks ago.

This was one of the most incredible vacations I ever took and I can't wait to go back one day.

The other way to look at #Bluesky is that *this* is what they’ve built after four years in development and $13 million in funding.

The deadliest single day battle in US history is considered to be the Battle of Antietam with 3,675 killed. However, if you remove the Confederate dead, who did not consider themselves part of the US, D-Day is the deadliest day with 2,500 killed.

The deadliest multi-day battle is the Battle of Elsenborn Ridge, part of the Battle of the Bulge in WW2, with 5K killed over 10 days.

The deadliest campaign is the Normandy Campaign with 29K killed over 2.5 months.

All of the organisers of the protest against the #coronation have just been arrested under the new police powers.

This is fascism.

There's a lot of good pictures out there that won't get boosted because people are not doing #AltText. There's a lot of folks on Mastodon that do not boost without AltText being present.

So join the challenge of writing a description of your image/video! It helps all sorts of people, and more people will boost your stuff! Thanks!

Jasper needs special attention:

I'm up early. I'm retired. I have time to herd cats, and got right into the training. TRUST, we had to get that first. If you sneezed in another room, he'd hit the ceiling in fear.

There's that *other* cat, Queen Bee Maya, the Princess; now ALPHA cat. The introductions were off to a rocky start.

She didn't really like him for starters.
He was always touching her.
She hates that.

"Royalty was like dandelions. No matter how many heads you chopped off, the roots were still there underground, waiting to spring up again.

It seemed to be a chronic disease. It was as if even the most intelligent person had this little blank spot in their heads where someone had written: "Kings. What a good idea." Whoever had created humanity had left in a major design flaw. It was its tendency to bend at the knees."

- Terry Pratchett, Feet of Clay

I haven't been around as much lately because I am work on a HUGE project for Indigenous Diabetes Health Circle (IDHC)...Last year they licensed 6 of my owls! They've come back to me for 6 new images featuring canoes. I am doing ALL custom pieces. A busy, but super happy artist. :)

Bundt cake anyone?

When researchers were surveying the seafloor in February,
which enabled the discovery of 19,325 previously undetected mountains,
each 3,300 ft or taller,
they also discovered something highly unusual almost as tall as a seamount but looked nothing like a typical undersea volcano.

I've had a very long couple of days being brigaded by a group of trollish sociopaths. (I'm still getting hate email).

If I fail to give you the benefit of the doubt in the next little while and unfairly presume the worst of you, I apologize. I'll try not to do that, but I feel like that's a risk at the moment. Thanks for understanding.

The thing about nazis is that more or less nothing good can come from them, or tolerating having them around. Nazis are not like you and I, in that their inner lives are generally very very small, hateful worlds, and there's only so much room to explore inside that though bubble. Consequently, they seem to spend all of their time trying to figure out how to spread their nazi ideas (and miserable inner lives) to everyone else. Sooner or later, the nazi in the room goes for it. Every time.

I sometimes forget that Americans are fighting in Ukraine, too.

Former Marine Cooper Andrews of Cleveland, Ohio, 26 years old, joined the Foreign Legion to help Ukraine because he was distraught by all the stories he was hearing about what was happening to Ukrainian children. He was killed by a mortar attack on ‘The Road of Life’ in April near Bakhmut, trying to evacuate civilians.

@NorCal_Lynne People want to be found, and one of the few ways of doing that is through hashtags.
