i remember driving home from a marathon 16-hr D&D session at my friend Tom's house and the sun was coming up and Bela Fleck's "Sunset Road" came on and i was exhausted and happy and the song was just so perfect for that moment and it will always live in my memory

godspeed, Tom. you turned out to be kind of an asshole, but you were a good friend to me once upon a time, and you were too young to leave us. i'll never hear that song w/o thinking of you.

These are the Republican billionaires funding the Texas GOP.

They are the ones who give Abbott his marching orders.

@Teri_Kanefield Your caution and skepticism is warranted. The real mystery here is how Jack Dorsey has suckered everyone into believing that he has a "distributed" "open" system, when the current system is neither. Back in the day we would have called it vaporware, but if Trump proved one thing, it's that we are living in a particularly credulous, gullible time.

“Until we throw out the bums in office who rely on thoughts and prayers—and stand in the way of gun laws that can save lives and slow the bloodshed—then we can all continue to decry the horror while the soundtrack of our lives is a drumbeat of mass shootings.”

This article describes how journalists sent photographs across the Atlantic “instantly” in 1926. The most amazing thing to me is that the image is literally *digitized* into “pixels” along a helical scanline, quantized into 5 levels of gray—all through analog means.

So utterly fascinating.

An enterprising person could have used the 5 hole punches to encode 32 levels of gray, or used maybe 3 holes to encode 8 levels of gray, saving 40% of the transmission cost at the expense of making the machines more complicated…

Stop saying it is this mistake Republicans make, this is whwhat republicans dont understand, these principles republicans must learn. . .

Just say it straight, Elected Republicans are Responsible for Mass Gun Deaths and Live Shooter Events.

When the „Elbnixe“ was launched on 18 July 1922, it marked the end of an era. She was the last wooden sailing cargo ship built in Germany. This beautiful model was built by A. Bernhardt on a scale of 1:100 and is at the end of our exhibition on modern sailing ships on deck 2 of the museum.

Hey!

Do you have any fucking clue as to how awesome you are?

You've overcome so much. It's really amazing that you've made it this far.

Make sure to take a moment and appreciate all of the things that you've dealt with in your life. All of the things that you overcame in order to move forward.

And if you're in a position you'd rather not be in right now? This too shall pass. You'll move forward and grow just like you always have. It's what you do.

Keep moving forward. You've got this!

Was riding the bike when I came across this couple in their cool car, watching the sunset over a field. They let me take pictures, which I later shared with them

@AlliFlowers Not necessarily. My county flipped Blue in 2020 so what did the #gop Gov & legislature do? Re-drew the district so #Democrats couldn’t win again. #gerrymandered Know why they don’t care about dead children? They rigged the elections so your votes don’t matter in state races. Now they’ve passed laws the #legislatures can throw out your votes & fire prosecutors they don’t like. #fascism is here. #Republican #goptraitors

They're just no words.
