New people, this is way true: turn off boosts from people you feel are a firehose. You have the control over what you see in your feed.

It would vacate its opinion & direct the imposition of sanctions on the lawyers who hacked the legal system & perpetrated this hoax"- @tribelaw

👋 Hello! Looks like quite a few more people are coming here as part of a #TwitterMigration. Welcome to the #fediverse!

GBH News is a PBS/NPR station in #Boston, MA. We start the day with a news roundup and a lighthearted poll. #introduction

Are you a #journalist? I wrote Mastodon 101 for Journalists which you can find here: https://lisawilliams.github.io/lisa/tech/2022/11/28/mastodon-101-for-journalists.html

(for those of you who have been here a minute...I'm looking to update that. Suggestions welcome!)

I think this is my first time being on the other side of a #TwitterMigration. It's pretty cool! For all the new folks here making an #introduction for those concerned about not being able to find POC, I strongly recommend starting by following hashtags and using those to follow people who use/are associated with them. I did that and found a really active, engaged, diverse, and vibrant Black community here. Use the following hashtags in particular:

#BlackFedi #BlackMastodon #BlackTwitter #BlackFriday (I joined last November when this hashtag was created).

There are other hashtags associated with other communities - our Indigenous siblings use #Indigenous and maybe #NDN, not sure. And every once in a while, someone will tweet a bunch of good accounts to follow. Personally, I could do with more #french #francais or #spanish #espanol content, but that's kind of on me.

Welcome!

Now's as good a time as any for an #introduction!

We are a student newspaper at one of the University of Alaska campuses!

As far as we know, we're the only student newspaper in Alaska with a Fediverse presence!

Follow us and you'll make some students happy -- and show that the fediverse is a viable paltform for higher ed. social media!

The traffic jam on the Crimean bridge heading towards Russia was reduced to 3 km by sunrise Sunday; the wait time was up to 1.5 hours.

There is no traffic jam in the opposite direction heading into Crimea, stated the Crimean Ministry of Transport.

Hey #TwitterMigration folks,
If you have a new account, especially if it is on Mastodon or masto or one of the "official" servers, lurk for a while before you decide what server you want for your account.
Do some research and see where your friends and interests are.
