As my spouse and I ran errands today, she wore a “Protect Trans Kids” t-shirt and I wore a “Trans Rights are Human Rights” ball cap. We catch people staring often, but today one cashier told us they loved our shirt and hat. While we ate lunch, someone came to our table, apologized for interrupting, and complimented our shirt and hat. Putting this out there for those overwhelmed by the ugliness and need a boost, that you have allies and advocates. Maybe more than you know. #PrideMonth #trans

I think that it's wild how so much of the United States has memory holed the fact that the Republican Party tried to push a ban on Muslims back in 2017.

So lemme get this straight.

1. Lorie Smith, owner of 303 Creative, doesn't actually design websites. Her company doesn't actually provide that service.
2. Stewart (last name withheld) didn't ask for a wedding site for him and his husband from her.
3. Stewart isn't gay. He's married to a woman and they have a kid together.
4. AND what could possibly be the most ironic occupation for Stewart to have? He's a web designer.

Hi! I’m a hobbyist music maker.

I started making music on Android in Caustic. Then switched to iOS and embraced whatever it had to offer (it’s a lot).

The main thing I like about Fediverse is the main thing I like about the idea of democracy: that I can actually have a say and affect how my experience is going to be, just because I exist as a human.

So even though I think Fediverse has some problems, I am possessed with a fierce joy that the tools to address these problems do lie in my hands.

By comparison I have zero power to affect what happens to me on commercial social media.

A Republican got offended I called the founding U.S. citizens "colonizers,"—rebuking me that “the original 13 colonies were beacons of freedom.”

I asked him to repeat that part...slowly. Apparently "colonies" is respectful—but calling those who built colonies "colonizers" is not.🤔

Also, I'm sure the enslaved, Native Americans, women, and anyone not a WASP wealthy land owner would likely disagree with that whole "beacon of freedom" part.
