I'm not a conspiracy theorist in the least, but I do honestly think elon purchase Twitter to kill it.

A lot of community engagement was done via Twitter. Political action worldwide spread via Twitter, Violence being committed all over the world was told via Twitter. Political engagement against the rightwing in the US was via Twitter.

Then a righwing billionaire with foreign funding buys Twitter, unblocks racist, removes policies, kills safety board, etc.

This was deliberate

So . . . Russia is bombing the bejeezus out of Ukraine, including schools, hospitals, hotels, and apartment buildings, but the EU and NATO don't want to supply Ukraine with long-range missiles that could reach the Russian launch sites because that would risk . . . escalating the conflict?!? Watching Twitter's death spiral is just sad. I mean yeah, it had tons of issues, but the fact that so many communities and movements are going to be broken/fractured because of this is depressing.

His name was Jamal Khashoggi.
He was a journalist and critic of the Saudi regime.
He was lured to the Saudi embassy in Turkey where he was murdered and dismembered.
The man on whose orders this was done now owns Newcastle United and is about to be feted by the UK government.

Last Wednesday evening @nova had a climbing accident and died.

All of us that loved her are heart broken and stunned. She was an amazing person that lived out loud and built connection and community wherever she went. She will be horribly missed.

Yes, it is disgusting that Musk and company have removed 2011-2014 photos (and videos?) from the deadbird site.

But it's also yet another reminder to everyone: DO NOT completely entrust what you create to highly centralized, privately controlled (sometimes by evil people) cloud-based services.

At the very least, have backups -- local and off-site -- from which you re-post what you've created.

Fascists delete the archives of humanity and erase the past, to better manipulate the present and future.
