Pretty damn frustrating that during this terrible hurricane, lots of people aren't seeing updates because NWS, NHC, news channels/reporters, etc decided to stay parked on X for God knows what reason when hundreds of thousands if not millions of users left for a sane environment on Mastodon, Firefish, etc.

Folks, demand your government have a social media presence where the people are. After all it's your tax dollars involved. I'm going to be contacting officials about this issue this week.

Please spread the word and take a stand against this. I don't know what you can do directly, but you can at least make sure people know that it's happening.
