The frame of ‘vaccine fatigue’ and ‘mask fatigue’ is trying to make us think we’re tired of prevention rather than the vicious way capital tried to exploit us during the pandemic.

It’s like telling us we have ‘protecting your face fatigue’ when they’re punching us.

@s3thi Thank you for sharing that insight and I hope you find the people of your mind here.

i hope the melon man bankrupts Twitter ... [so] Microsoft can buy it up and make it boring again.

It's bad when good is boring. I can't help but agree. I'll stick with Mastodon, though.

On the bright side, there are plenty of #writers and #authors amongst #theWritersOfMastodon that form a #writingCommunity. There are also #developers and people who #code. Lots of #art, #artists, and #artistsonmastodon doing #fineart, #watercolor, #sketch, and #photography.

Follow some of these tags. Posts will suggest further tags and people to follow. If you find someone particularly interesting, you can always investigate their follow list.

Ukraine's president Volodymyr Zelenskyy definitely got that feeling in Canada's largest city, Toronto. And here is why.

哦我不仅做菜很有天赋，像那种出去吃牛肉火锅，烤肉等需要一定diy水平的东西，也会高于常人，而且很乐意做这些事，和我一起吃饭的朋友有福了！

The other day I was arguing with a colleague, & I said that I thought 95% of the funds getting thrown at AI would be better spent strengthening infrastructure to handle climate change. He said “AI will fix climate change.”

Now I think 100% of those funds should be redirected.

Christian supremacists' "parental rights" movement is actually a Trojan horse to smuggle in policies that would allow them to use state power to brainwash other people's children with Christian fundamentalist dogma.

These activists have stupid beliefs, but they are exceptionally cunning.

They cannot convert adults any more so they've resorted to reproduction and child indoctrination as their political strategy. More here: https://www.thenation.com/article/politics/vote-pray-stand-summit/

... #Pica has said I should post this "as an example of how it is possible to treat cats right"

IDK... Is it really such a big deal if she doesn't have her own cat sized couch and heater?

Media sets unreasonable expectations I think.

An early post for #SilentSunday, a small piece titled 'Fox Pup in the Field' :)

Three (3) photos here:
Foster cat Manchester loves Willy and is always trying to share space with him, but he’s an old grump.

1) I quickly snap a photo, because I know the moment won’t last.
2) Willy stares her down.
3) Willy gets his way (again).

Happy #Equinox to all life on Earth!

Autumn is here. And soon, rumor has it, rain. Real rain. Meaning we might just have an October where I don’t have to be hypervigilant about fire!

It is my sincere hope that #ClimateChange means that our rainy season will shift too and maybe even cancel the fall fire season. Hey, a girl can dream.

In the meantime, Lucy demands admiration. So admire her! 😁♥️

This week the Census Bureau released data showing child #poverty more than doubled in 2022; 5 million kids fell into poverty.

#McCarthy might have addressed this dramatic impact on the lives of our children; that the “pro-baby” party was, well, pro baby but instead, he announced a vague impeachment inquiry with no evidence of the “high crimes and misdemeanors;” our standard for such a momentous action.

#GOP is unable to govern.
