Hi #PortfolioDay!

I'm Karen, an artist from Germany who works with traditional media such as watercolor, ink, soft pastels and acrylic.
For me, inspiration is everywhere, especially in beautiful nature. My favorite subjects are animals, flowers, landscapes and colorful abstracts.
I love creating paintings that bring joy and happiness to the viewer.

Jupiter.

I went out to photograph the moon this morning. I was visible in the east, but hazy behind clouds. The bright star to the south of the moon was less obscured to I photographed it instead, actually through a break in the trees. I'm pretty sure this is Jupiter and I think this photo is about as good as it gets with my camera equipment.

Do you think this will escalate to a war with Iran?

Every time I get a new Patreon supporter Fishy gets a treat. I'm starting to suspect that 99% of my subscribers might just be fake accounts that Fishy created.

So Jett is sitting on my lap and purring, but my, the side eye I got when I dared to stop the ear rub!

父上
#Japaneselanguage #Americans

Are there any Americans around who speak Japanese? I barely know what 父上 means (roughly, "father" for the kind of people who wear really expensive clothes). I've never actually heard any American use this word, but it dawned on me that it might be wildly inappropriate for any American to use this word.

The problem is that this word implies that some people are above others, which is out of line with American ideals of egalitarianism.

DEATH OF INNOCENCE

Dear Reader,

I wrote the following shortly after the start of the Russian invasion as the Ukrainian deaths accumulated.

However, I'm posting it now in remembrance of all the innocent victims of the past few days in Israel and Gaza.

My condolences to the families 💔

War

Weep old woman,
Your child has died
War comes a calling
A price for you to pay
Death set loose by the egos of man
Your child had to pay
War comes a calling
A price for all to pay

I did not expect to be in *more* pain after having my stitches removed.

😫

The doctor didn’t think it was infected, but he prescribed an antibiotic ointment to be safe and said I should have the dermatologist look at it again next week. Waiting to hear if she can see me next week.

Took an Uber to pick up the prescription antibiotic ointment for my wound. Yay for the pharmacy putting it on a rush.

It feels like I’m single-handedly keeping Uber and Lyft in business.

Nancy Mace's shirt is not about her "being demonized". It is however, a sure sign of her Histrionic Personality Disorder.
