I think that's the right analysis. Shutting down the government for a year or more would be catastrophic for the US. But it would be a win for the GOP, which is at war against the US and actively attempting to overthrow our government.

The media, and even many Republicans, insist on pretending this is not the case. They're putting all of our lives in danger.
