they voted to prohibit using Dept of Transportation funds to *enforce* mask mandates in 2024.

1) there are currently no mask mandates for any public transit agency that I'm aware of. not local, not Amtrak, not airlines. no one.

2) even if a public transit agency had a mask mandate, they could use their own funds to enforce it, while using federal funds for something else.

3) there are other ways to fund this enforcement should we need it at some point.

before you come for me, i mask at all times. on transit, in stores, on airplanes. i once had a mask on for 10 hrs straight without even a water break.

I understand that we all feel strongly about this, but when we misrepresent and engage in hyperbole, we lose.

the other side lies. we don't.

Hi folks, it’s Tim here in Istanbul, where I’ve been really interested in learning more about the ancient links between #Kyiv and #Turkey.

While there are a number of competing theories as to who founded Kyiv, and for what reason, it is clear that Kyiv achieved initial prominence as part of a route from Scandinavia to Constantinople (modern-day Istanbul).

Medieval-age Vikings would find their way from what is now Sweden, down the #Dnipro River, passing #Kyiv en route to the Black Sea, and eventually what we know as #Turkey today.

“They changed Kyiv into a very important trading center,” said Dr. Turgut Kerem Tuncel, Senior Analyst at the Center for Eurasian Studies.

Crazy that the same people who freak out about terminating a pregnancy can so easily look away who innocent people are slaughtered by guns on a daily basis in America.

Funny that we can require minimum ages, licensing, training, registration, and insurance to operate a motor vehicle but can’t do the same to own and operate deadly weapons in America.

Apple TV+ was a reasonable deal at $69 per year and a little less so at $7/month. It's not a good deal, IMO, at $10/month and $100/year.

So when our annual subscription runs out next spring, we'll just cancel -- as we've done with almost all of the streaming services -- and renew periodically for a month at a time to catch up on service exclusives we really want to watch.

The streamers seem convinced there's no price elasticity in what they offer.

Prove them wrong.
