Up with the sun this morning. Six o'clock? Seven? Who really cares. It's Monday, and I'm up, coffee in hand, and sitting here in the morning sunlight. So I guess that makes it morning, and the coffee makes it a good one. So good Monday morning to y'all #today.

I am pleased to say #sofasunday went as planned. Lots of sofa surfing, good football and pleanty of popcorn. No tossing any at the TV required either. At least not until the 4th quarter, and by then, well... I had eaten all the popcorn by then, so I didn't have any left to throw. 😁 But they were fun and exciting to watch. 👍 😊

Just facing the usual miserable Monday Honey-doins #today. Eventually, after coffee and some sun sitting and all that important "wake up, it's morning" stuff.

Busy weekend with kids having a sleepover, a paint event for a different kid, trying to slip in a work out on Saturday, church, and a band event yesterday. Oh, and some laundry (but never enough).

Basically - it was busy, as I said.

Today in Labor History November 5, 1916: The Everett Massacre occurred in Everett, Washington. 300 IWW members arrived by boat in Everett to help support the shingle workers’ strike that had been going on for the past 5 months. Prior attempts to support the strikers were met with vigilante beatings with axe handles. As the boat pulled in, Sheriff McRae called out, “Who’s your leader?” The Wobblies answered, “We’re all leaders!” The sheriff pulled his gun and said, “You can’t land.” A Wobbly yelled back, “Like hell we can’t.” Gunfire erupted, most of it from the 200 vigilantes on the dock. When the smoke cleared, two of the sheriff’s deputies were dead, shot in the back by their own men, along with 5-12 Wobblies on the boat. Dozens more were wounded. The authorities arrested 74 Wobblies. After a trial, all charges were dropped against the IWW members. The event was mentioned in John Dos Passos’s “USA Trilogy.”

In America, people are leaving Christianity in ever-increasing numbers.

When you ask those leaving why, they answer that they no longer want to be associated with immorality just like this.
