I still remember the first time Trump shot Democracy on 5th Avenue and got away with it.

Me, at 2:49 am, remembering that time in seventh grade that I was supposed to carry the flag into the school assembly and instead tripped over level ground gave myself a black eye with the flagpole

Trump’s victory is not preordained, America is not destined to sink into authoritarianism. I agree we must not surrender to fatalism.

But the defense of democracy must start from the recognition that there is a fairly straightforward path from here to autocratic rule. 4/

When we fret about inflation, we need to remember why it happened in the first place.

“From facility closures to compromised care, it’s now a familiar story: private equity buys out a hospital, saddles it with debt, and then reduces operating costs by cutting services and staff — all while investors pocket millions. Before the dust settles, the private equity firm sells and leaves town, leaving communities to pick up the pieces.” via @brittanytrang for @STAT

You know what’s awesome? When you have a bug in your code, and you spend a few hours debugging it, writing things you think will fix it and doesn’t, and then finally get it working properly.

Then when you diff the change it’s identical to the code you started with.

Havasu Creek
One of my more enjoyable stops on our trip through the Grand Canyon was the stop at Havasu Creek. Such a beautiful side canyon. The walls of this canyon are narrow, tall and steep. This made the hike a bit of a challenge in sandles but doable,
The water here is almost the same turqouise blue as The Little Colorado River but with shades of deep green as well. See the full image here: https://fineartamerica.com/featured/havasu-creek-bill-gallagher.html #HavasuCreek #BillGallagherPhotography #BuyIntoArt #AYearForArt #GrandCanyon
