Morning Mastodonians!

I took Nemo, the one eyed orange tabby, to the vets yesterday. His eye was looking pretty bad. They did a couple tests and decided it was, in fact, a bacteria and so we got some antibiotic lotion to put in his eye and we're awaiting a call from the pharmacy for an oral antibiotic to give him. Worst of all, though, is he has to wear a cone, which is just the saddest thing to watch.

Singing bird.

This, I'm pretty sure, is a tropical kingbird (Tyrannus melancholicus) though apparently, they are virtually identical to the couch's kingbird, but I read that they latter is usually found in more dense forest areas.

"Tropical Kingbirds sometimes nest close to members of the blackbird family (Icteridae), such as orioles, caciques, and oropendolas, which nest in colonies. In turn, these tropical blackbirds often nest near large wasp nests, which deter predators, and the birds join together to chase away nest parasites such as cowbirds. The kingbirds benefit from having such vigilant neighbors." - allaboutbirds.org

EVEN AS AN OLD FLAMING LIBERAL I WOULD NEVER PUT A DEMOCRAT ABOVE THE LAW LIKE THE GOP DOES IT'S MEMBERS. THEY TREAT CORRUPTION AND LIES LIKE IT'S A PERK OF OFFICE!

Good morning, afternoon or evening to you all!
Pax is awake and looking rather grown up this morning. She'll soon be 9 months old and she's ready to take on the world!

Yeah so I’m moving of substack once I get home. Sad to hear about their stance on Nazis.

@hannu_ikonen Thanks again. I really appreciate having someone with an MD after their name posting things about #Covid that actually match up with all the studies I’ve read about why people shouldn’t be inhaling this virus. Almost feels like it should stand for “Minimizer/Denier” nowadays, except of course for you, @erictopol, @WesElyMD, Lisa Iannattone and a few others. Would include Daniel Griffin but for the company he keeps.

Can’t think of a single virologist or MPH I respect anymore.
