Trump filed his reply in the immunity issue in the Supreme Court.

It's so bad it is embarrassing. It is exactly how not to write a legal document.

To review: The issue now is simply whether the Supreme Court will put the trial DC-J6 trial hold while it considers whether to grant cert (hear his appeal.)

Ordinarily the order is this:

💠 Person loses and files a writ for certiorari (which means asking SCOTUS to hear the appeal.
💠 SCOTUS decides whether to hear the case.

AVDIVKA: CLOSE TO THE END?

The Zenit fortress has fallen, the Russians have broken through deeply from the north and the pocket is now within days, maybe even hours of closing. Ukraine is outnumbered 7:1 and despite that inflicting heavy losses on the Russians, not that they care.
There is little to say - which is why I have said so little. The air strikes have been devastating and played a critical part in breaking the defence of the city. The need for F-16’s and their long range anti-air missiles has never been greater. They cannot come soon enough.
Whatever plan Ukraine has for getting out of the city it must already be underway.
This is not a symbolic moment as much as a significant strategic gain for Russia. The loss of Avdivka will unquestionably make it incredibly hard to regain the occupied territories later. The future of the war in this area will be very different. I hope to god if he exists that the Ukrainians get out.  Live to fight another day.

Playing with a new scope tonight. Some clouds and too much moon but I just wanted to focus and try it. It's my first ever reflector (rather than refractor). The reason I wanted a reflector was to work on star clusters and other images that are mostly about the stars. They create those diffraction spikes you may have seen in astro images. This is Betelgeuse. What we call "first light" on the new scope.
