A few years ago Scott Adams purported to write a book about the "art of persuasion" (mostly he tried to sound smart by cribbing from real experts).

And now ... he's basically ended up on the same page as the KKK. He's apparently become an anti-Black zealot calling for segregation. In addition to being a virulently anti-Black racist, I'd say he can also be considered a genuine "anti-persuader" at the point.

@bbiiirdbPhD Anytime someone asks me why I am wearing a mask in public, I tell them, “I already had Covid once, and I’m still dealing with #LongCovid, and I can’t afford tog get infected again because of the risks of hospitalization and death.”

Nearly always, their response is shock and confusion. If they ask for clarification, I mention research like this study, showing the dangers of repeat infections.

What I am learning is that at least in the USA, people just don’t know. We never had a sufficient public information campaign and then the GOP politicized the pandemic. The result is, people here still believe the myths and don’t have the basic information they need to make any kind of educated choice. So we have an entire nation of people sticking their heads in the sand and pretending that will make it all go away.
