One of my older cousins is 52 yrs old this year. He still hasn't found the courage to come out to his parents. Unlike my parents, who are accepting of folks who are LGBTQ - his parents are homophobic & judgemental on anyone who isn't heterosexual. I've always felt sorry for that cousin & remember asking my parents around age 12, if we could adopt him. He has very limited contact with his immediate family.
