Imagine being in power for 13 years, getting everything you ever wanted, and yet being so fundamentally weak that your entire argument cannot withstand a single critical tweet from a TV persosonality.

Oh, that is rich. After defying a subpoena from the Jan. 6 Committee himself last Congress, Jim Jordan now expects compliance with his subpoenas now that he has the gavel.

See how Eric Swalwell expertly called out Jordan's hypocrisy: https://secondnexus.com/swalwell-jordan-subpoena-compliance-hypocrisy?utm_source=mastodon&utm_medium=toot&utm_campaign=2N

👏🏻 #Michigan’s Democratic-majority legislature has voted to repeal a state #abortion ban from 1931, sending the bill to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s (D) desk for a signature.

Yes, I’m fully aware it’s only 9 pm. Yes, I’m still going to bed now anyway.

Every study ever: Overworked employees are less productive. Employees who work from home are just as productive as employees who work in the office. The evidence is indisputable.

Managers: I see. But I have a hunch that the complete opposite is true.

Caught COVID at work instead of out partying

Another surprise.

When I first started this hobby, there were a lot of house sparrows and house finches around and I learned to tell the difference between two, or so I thought. What I really did was learn to identify a house finch, once I did that all others were house sparrows. 🙄 This bird is a breeding male.

And I'm out of characters 😠.

"You can find House Sparrows most places where there are houses (or other buildings), and few places where there aren’t. Along with two other introduced species, the European Starling and the Rock Pigeon, these are some of our most common birds. Their constant presence outside our doors makes them easy to overlook, and their tendency to displace native birds from nest boxes causes some people to resent them. But House Sparrows, with their capacity to live so intimately with us, are just beneficiaries of our own success." - allaboutbirds.org

Here's tonight's view. There's just not enough time for social media these days, but I can fling up a mountain photo now and then. Hope everyone has a great evening. I'm about to do my old lady routine... succumbing to pillows by 8pm. 😴 💤

Moon 20230308

The moon finally climbed where I could see it above the tree line.

Moon phase tonight, Waning Gibbous

"As the Moon begins its journey back toward the Sun, the opposite side of the Moon now reflects the Moon’s light. The lighted side appears to shrink, but the Moon’s orbit is simply carrying it out of view from our perspective. The Moon rises later and later each night." - moon.nasa.gov

Blue Moon

This is a pic from a month ago. Some additional editing made it a little bluer than the original. I doubt I'll be up to see the moon tonight, perhaps I'll catch it in the morning.

Funny to see VCs who generally rail against government intervention making the case for a bailout of Silicon Valley Bank now that there's an intervention that would directly help them and their friends.

Socialism for me, capitalism for thee.

Reminds me a bit of the people I know who went from ardent YIMBY to NIMBY the moment they settled down in a neighborhood and bought a house.
