In early 2020, CDC officers were told not to wear masks, "so as not to alarm the public."

Chinese air passengers were arriving to the US in N95 masks only to be evaluated by CDC officials who were maskless.

Meanwhile, privately, many CDC officers were advising friends and family to "cancel weddings and planned vacations, to stay home, and to wear masks and goggles when they ventured outside."

My father Donald died 19 years ago today. Here he is in his happiest of happy places, our old place in #Provincetown, doing something you should never try at home! But Dad's barbecued chicken was always delicious, eaten on the deck in this beautiful place. Thanks, Dad, for everything. I miss you every day.
