@1finekitty The end of democracy in Tennessee. They’ll get away with it and next will be Florida or Texas. The legislature of Tennessee told it’s citizens their vote doesn’t matter anymore.

In college, I took a class were 5 people collaborated on a 5 page paper. 4 of the people, including myself, were Black, and there was one white guy, my now husband. Identical papers with different names on each title page. The 4 Black people got B+s and the white guy got an A-. Same paper. Every word.

Democrats would be foolish not to campaign on this and making commercials out of this for the elections this year and in 2024 and beyond.

And we would be foolish not to vote.

Vote OUT Republicans.

@alfredo_liberal Great but it would be nice if voters stopped supporting fascists. Republicans have a choke hold on the Tennessee legislature and protesting doesn't seem to have any impact on them. Votes will. Vote them out.

While we're busy talking about the expulsion of two Black members of the Tennessee House of Representatives, let's not forget that Justin Lafferty assaulted one of those members, when he assaulted Justin Jones on the floor of the Tennessee House last week.

Unsurprising to me that @ProPublica is one of the few national news orgs genuinely holding the powerful accountable through investigative reporting, and is ALSO one of the few national news orgs who made the common sense decision to begin building an audience in the Fediverse. Fearless journalism is right.
