So Elon Musk, apparently throwing a fit after Substack announced a Twitter-like "Notes" product earlier this week, has now not only blocked tweets from being embedded in Substack posts but has blocked Substack articles from being shared on Twitter. It's preposterous but also reflective of his broader philosophy for ruini-- I mean running the company, which is hostage-taking and destruction instead of trying to grow the platform by, you know, improving it.

Just finished Karen Maitland's Falcons of Fire and Ice which takes place in 16th century Portugal and Iceland.

She is amazing at interweaving historical details with how people would have incorporated superstitions into their understanding of the world. You aren't sure if there's supernatural elements in the story or just people struggling to make sense of the world. Strong recommend! #books #bookstodon

Today I have spent the entire day in Kyiv, Ukraine, on Bankova Street. I had internal meetings and was preparing for upcoming events. I met with Prime Minister Shmyhal to discuss current issues and coordinate state steps and decisions. I also discussed the security situation and the work of law enforcement agencies. Additionally, I was preparing for meetings, negotiations, and appeals for our international agenda. I was also in contact with the military regarding the most active areas on the front line. It is important that the visit to Poland, the work of our delegation in Warsaw, and our communication with our Polish partners have a positive effect on the frontline. The main focus of all negotiations and meetings is defense and protection of our people, supporting our resilience, and especially our soldiers. This includes providing weapons, ammunition, and new defense systems for Ukraine. I am thankful to Poland and our partners for making this visit meaningful. Glory to our soldiers! Glory to Ukraine!

TN GOP just expelled Rep Justin Jones for peacefully demanding gun reform.

Jones reminded that the GOP refused to expel Republicans who molested children, abused women, are under federal investigation, & urinated in the chamber. GOP expelled him anyway.

The danger is beyond MAGA expelling Democrats for the "crime" of demanding accountability for gun violence. It's that if this injustice goes unchecked, MAGAs nationwide will do the exact same. This is how fascism & single party rule takes hold.
