@scalzi Even the "normies" are acting quite insane, the entirety of the party is corrupted, top to bottom.

"All in" it now costs about $2300/mo to run Newsie.social.

That includes servers, moderation staff cost, insurance, etc. (most of the staff including myself work free on Newsie)

That's a big jump in costs over the past 3-4 months (largely because of Twitter's meltdown)

However we've reached the point of unsustainability because we take in only $1000/mo and we're running out of runway.

A show I'm watching has reminded me of the time I was breaking of with a guy I'd only been seeing briefly, and to keep us together he offered to clean my house.

I was sweet, innocent and decidedly un-mercenary. I declined. We were ill matched and I wasn't going to take advantage of the poor guy.

I don't know how sweet or innocent I am today, but for better or worse, I'm just as un-mercenary.

However, from the *right* guy, an offer to clean my house would make me swoon. Don't get me wrong! 😂

I've noticed that; since I slowly made the migration here from the bird site,I'm not having to censor myself. And I don't have to endure idiots.

These last few years have revealed just how unhinged and cult ready most people are and I don't like it.
