How did we end up with the word “horny”? Like someone said “I'm so horny!” And we were like “what?” and they said “it means I want sex.” And society didn't question, we were like “oh, ok, I'm horny too.”

I am stepping back from the #Tusky project with immediate effect.

I discovered severe lapses in how the Tusky project's donations (received via #OpenCollective) were being handled. When I reported those to the project's private "Tusky Contributors" Matrix channel the financial admins tone policed the feedback, refused to engage with the concerns I and others raised, and demanded the discussion be stopped.

i support jewish people. i have great respect and appreciation for jewish culture and history.

i do not support israel the nation state. the people living in it, yes, always. the state and its well-documented atrocities? no.

i have no love for nation states. especially not the ones currently involved in violent oppression. i have love for the humans living inside these nation states, and for their human rights.

since someone appears to be going around and reporting any not-positive mentions of israel the nation state for antisemitism, this apparently does need to be said. normally i don’t speak on the matter because i have no qualification to speak on it, but it is important to me to make my position here perfectly clear.

killing people is bad, actually, and israel the nation state is doing a lot of that. the people who are not very enthusiastic about people getting killed are not going to shut up about this. not very surprisingly, this includes a lot of jewish people.

If you are a white leftist and you talk “both parties are the same they are both capitalist” you will loose most of your black audience. I think it ought to be obvious that this isn’t because blackfolks love Democrats (in most cases, there is always someone being simple in any group) —no. it’s because the difference between the parties is material and obvious and these are unstable times.

When I hear such talk I wonder if the speaker is working on voter suppression.
