I am a Max Planck Research Group Leader at the #MPI for Biological Intelligence. My lab explores fundamental questions in developmental #neurobiology related to the generation of cell-type diversity. We combine #scRNAseq with lineage barcoding tools and genetic perturbation to explore principles that orchestrate the establishment of neuronal identities.

I am an engineer and software developer focused on #opensource tools for #neuroscience research, especially for extracellular #electrophysiology. Core developer of @spikeinterface.

Currently working with the Allen Institute of Neural Dynamics to build efficient and automated pipelines for large-scale ephys analysis. Also working part-time with CatlystNeuro, helping labs to adopt open-source and standard solutions for analysis and data storage.
I'm also interested in biophysical #modeling, #neurotechnology, and #multimodal approaches to probe neural activity.

#Introduction. I'm a theoretical neuroscientist at U Mainz Medical Center and co-affiliated with U Bonn Medical center. Primary focus on cortical circuits, their network activity, synaptic plasticity and protein dynamics in dendrites. Broadly interested how circuits learn e.g. neuro/AI interface and want to understand how neural networks compute, both algorithmically and intracellularly. Occational posts about societal and academic issues.

The very impressive but deeply creepy Devil’s Fingers fungus (Octopus Stinkhorn), sprouting in a local park.
These are native to the southern hemisphere but have somehow made their way to Northern Ireland.

It started with the Twitter lockout. 10,000 new users an hour. Almost a quarter million migrated to Mastodon in one day. The servers struggled. Remarkably, admins all over the world built up capacity in real time. New users were patient. The system held.

It's running better now. There will be more hard days ahead, but people powered social media has arrived.

I'm an Associate Professor at CEU, Austria. I work on #networkscience, in particular with problems related to network data analysis, including community detection and network reconstruction.

My works relies a lot on #Bayesian statistical inference, information theory, and statistical #physics.

I'm the author of the @graph_tool #python package for efficient network analysis, and the @netzschleuder network repository.
