Welp, first full-time writer I know has just lost an income stream as a website they work for has switched to ChatGPT.

Yes, I know, it sounds ridiculous and made-up, but this is a real person.

Copywriting pay has been dropping in real terms for decadesas publication across the board becomes less economically viable. Under those conditions, it becomes increasingly likely that sites will go for cheap quantity over well-paid quality.

"The UK’s leading Jewish organisation and a group of MPs have called on GB News and Ofcom to tackle the broadcaster’s indulgence of conspiracy theories, warning that some recent segments and guests risked spreading ideas linked to antisemitism."

I like this!

Today i learned that 40% of cargo shipping is fuel.. They're carting oil and petrol and coal and coke around the planet burning fossil fuels to deliver more fossil fuels to people.

So once we switch to local renewables we won't need those 40%. The problem gets smaller.

Great news!
"For the first time, wind and solar power produced more of the EU’s electricity than fossil gas in 2022. Renewable energies were responsible for a record fifth (22%) of the bloc’s electricity. Hydropower dropped to its lowest share of electricity since at least 2000 due to a 1-in-500 year drought in summer which dried out the continent’s hydro reservoirs. The nuclear share also dipped significantly."

Q: How to export 50,000 barrels/day of oil into Europe?

A: Start by exporting 1,600,000 barrels a day into Europe THEN start a genocidal war with it's largest country.

Senator Chris Murphy:

“You can't make this up.

Republicans added $4 TRILLION to the debt with their tax cut for corporations and billionaires.

Now, they are refusing allow Treasury to pay back the loans unless Congress agrees to cuts to Medicare and Social Security.”
