A team of astronomers have found that planet formation in our young solar system started much earlier than previously thought, with the building blocks of planets growing at the same time as their parent star. https://phys.org/news/2022-11-polluted-white-dwarfs-stars-planets.html

Now that I have learnt that boosting from other servers are not show in the local timeline, and proper quotation is also disabled indulge me to enhance discoverability by recommending locals some artist's accounts to follow from other servers in no particular order or style:

🐍⬛ Black is a popular code formatting tool for #Python. Let's look at the different ways that you can add it to your project to make your code more consistent. https://www.mattlayman.com/blog/2018/python-code-black/

Hey #mastodon gang: I'm new here, so bear with me just in case I sometimes miss notifications or such.

Quick and dirty "About me" #introduction: My name is Timo, I'm a 32yo long-time freelance tech journalist now pouring as much heart as possible into extensive #SteamDeck content on YouTube. I'm usually slower than other content creators due to having two jobs and a lovely young family. Thriving to continuously improve my production quality.

Feel free to get in touch and ask me anything.

Also, I just forgot about birdsite. I wanted to crosspost there from Mastodon, and maybe I will set it up, but I used to post the same thing on both sites manually, but I'm starting to just prefer Mastodon.

@steveumstead What about replies? Ultimately that's a really important metric here.

A little side by side comparison re: engagement. I posted a quick msg this morning about the #Artemis launch here on Mastodon, thought “hey, why not” & posted the same exact message on the birdsite:

Masto:
Favorites: 13
Boosts: 3
# of followers: 471

Birdsite:
RTs: 0
# of followers: 41,700

Big difference in engagement both b/c of who I chose to follow/converse with here & birdsite’s algorithm only showing what it wants us to see. It's almost... social...
