Software patents, a summary:
No, you can't have that idea because someone you never met and never will meet also thought of it, possibly even after you did, even if that person didn't and won't use the idea.
Too long?

Elin Ersson, activist that famously halted deportation by plane to war in Afghanistan from Sweden, commented prosecution via e-mail from lawyer Tomas Fridh.
My translation [part 1 of 2]:
”Elin Ersson and I have taken part of the indictment from Gothenburg District Court and we are surprised that the prosecutor chooses to bring a prosecution.”
”She was during the entire action ready to follow what the commander on board (the pilot) decided and she also left the plane as soon as the pilot decided that she should do so.”
”The rule that Elin Ersson is prosecuted for violating is about passengers' actions not undermining the safety on board aeroplanes during travel.

Elin Ersson, activist that famously halted deportation by plane to war in Afghanistan from Sweden, commented prosecution via e-mail from lawyer Tomas Fridh.
My translation [part 2 of 2]:
The protest took place during the time the plane stood parked and has, also according to the prosecutor, taken place with the intent of hindering the plane from beginning its travel.”
”To Elin Ersson the most central however is to bring forth the deficiencies in today's Swedish migration politics.Specifically how forced deportations are done with violence and coercion against persons in a very vulnerable position.”
