Is there a #geotwitter equivalent here? For example, is it #geomastodon I wonder?

What does this 👇 show?
Any idea ?
Hint: geography related

Answer to come…

Being editor of Tektonika (tektonika.online) I'm so happy to see that our friends from Seismica @weareseismica have just published their editorial paper "The launch of Seismica: a seismic shift in publishing" 👏

@jascha Induced seismicity is much less trendy in the #insurance industry than it was back when it was happening right under Oklahoma City.

But for those who don't have USGS #earthquake alerts set to M3.5... there are still a ton of induced earthquakes! Now mostly in West Texas.

Today’s #Texas M5.4 #earthquake (approximate location as a purple blob) in the context of nearby #reinjection wells and other recent #earthquakes on a map from Tung et al. (2020)

@allochthonous Two main issues due to the distributed / federated system.
- Finding people (fellow researchers, medias, etc) to follow
- Same (and more complicated) for the general public and media people, by the way not really here yet.
No way to easily search for somebody knowing their name as on twitter (assuming they are publicly using it). Same for hashtags: as far as I understand I cannot explore the full fediverse for e.g.

@allochthonous @rvawonk You may have a look to my Geo paper "Rapid collaborative knowledge building via Twitter after significant geohazard events"

Sorry for the self-promotion.

RT @CopernicusEU: #DYK that parts of the Greek islands 🇬🇷 move (horizontally↔️) at a velocity of several mm per year?

You can monitor this phenomenon with the products of the @CopernicusLand European Ground Motion Service #EGMS

🆕The data can now be downloaded! More at land.copernicus.eu/news/the-eu

@ChemBob Agree about "the biggest reservoirs of money". We need a drastic structural change (revolution?).
Keep in mind that a dude spent 44 billion $ to buy and likely destroy a social network. Same dude sent an empty car to the stars…

@dulcetatin
Ironic ?
Hypothetic possibilities for the wealthiests indeed…

The #NASA #InSight team is holding a full science meeting this week at the Royal Astronomical Society (#RAS) in London. This might be one of the last team meetings during the mission given that the spacecraft is soon expected to run out of power and enter "dead bus" mode.

Well, the twittosphere and matodosphere marvel at the launch of rocket by …

That's fine. But is it really a priority for humanity in the face of much greater and more vital challenges like and crises and the urgent need to mitigate and adapt ? I doubt.

Don't hesitate to comment.

Temperature stripes for France 👇 (even without 2022 that will likely tackle records). From: showyourstripes.info

Je découvre le hashtag #MastoArt grâce à @HygieneMentale... Merci ! 🤩

#SciArt

Few months ago, together with @RaphaelGrandin and J.M. Lalande from MeteoFrance, I participated as a scientific advisor to the making of this amazing scientific illustration 👇

It summarizes scientific observations on the Hunga explosion, associated global and atmospheric waves.

French newspaper Le Monde published these 2 pages in September 2022. Great work by the journalist and the graphic designer, Vahé Ter Minassian and Audrey Lagadec.

DM if you would like a higher resolution PDF 😉
