Birds of a feather indeed.

Found this in a #voteblue thread. Such a great sentiment and thank you to all those helping with the holiday effort. We appreciate you! #Christmas #Jewish #Buddhist #Agnostic

@dangillmor At this point using Twitter as a platform to reach readers is inherently compromising, similar in many respects to access journalism (perhaps even more so). The only winning move, from an integrity perspective, is to go elsewhere.

There's a lot of discussion about #birdsite and #journalism right now. While we are still having ongoing discussions about how best to handle our presence there, we can say confidently that we plan on staying on Mastodon indefinitely, barring unforseen circumstances.

In just about a month, we've very clearly seen the value in our presence here, for reaching new people and having great conversations. Here's to the future of the fediverse! #SocialMedia #TwitterMigration

Mastodon please help me with something. I'm a #trans guy with practically no trans guy friends. I know nothing about trans guys. I only know about James.

I could really do with some transmasc and trans men friends so.... hi?

Boosts encouraged 💜

Earlier today Elon Musk said that my ban was temporary, 45 min later he denied my appeal to reinstate my account and confirmed that I am *permanently* banned. The email I just received says the decision cannot be reversed.
I have never once violated Twitters rules or terms of service. I’ve never had a single tweet flagged, my account was permanently banned with no warning and with no reason, after I reached out to Musk for comment.

📢 if you’re a historian who studies vast early America or the early United States and/or childhood, youth, and age- please let me know and boost me to find others! I definitely want to find you guys on here! 📚👩🏼‍🏫

We've flown the coup and are now fully active on Mastodon! Come engage with us.

"#TomLehrer has put all his songs online (including lyrics & sheet music), and given away all rights to them. The site will only be up for a limited time. This is a very niche tweet that will make a small segment of people very happy. https://tomlehrersongs.com" <- https://twitter.com/emollick/status/1604148566804819970

If Mastodon diehards want this to be The Next Place after Twitter, the move is to bend over backwards to listen to disabled and Black community about what they do and don't need in social media space.

Even if it's challenging.

Even if it makes you uncomfortable.

These are power user communities, whether folks like it or not.

Ralph Norman is still in Congress after his text called for a military coup.
Andrew Clyde is still in Congress after calling Jan. 6 a “normal tourist visit.”
Paul Gosar is still in Congress after posting a fantasy video about assassinating another lawmaker.
The coup is ongoing.

Happy to be here. Am one of the trio who resigned from #Twitter's Trust & Safety Council on Dec 8 before #Musk disbanded said Council on Dec 12. #introduction #Introductions

Mark your calendars. The BLM Fund will open its next round of student debt relief applications for current and former Black students with student loan debt in February 2023. The amounts will be $750-$4,500 depending on the debt amount. The last round just closed and they will announce recipients in January 2023. https://blmfund.zendesk.com/hc/en-us

My Twitter account is no longer permanently suspended, but now it's locked unless I delete a specific tweet that billionaire Elon Musk doesn't like

@micahflee @Seasons don’t give in to his pressure especially because the whole thing was absolutely a temper tantrum on his part. He will do it again.

As Twitter kicked me out of the so-called digital town square, I'm trying to embrace the open source Mastodon with high hopes.
Please say hello and help me to navigate through this new app.

@nova to me just now:

Chuck Norris wears #JohnMastodon pajama pants to bed.

I feel bad for #JohnMastodon. All he wanted was to live in his mansion using tissue boxes for shoes, but he got outed by some journalist and now his solitude is over.
