You can't make this stuff up

Trump claimed he didn't commit fraud because the Saudis would buy his property at any price: court docs

Sometimes im just astonished by how out there some conspiracy theories are... like not landing on the moon, I guess i can get that cause we are so far removed from it and there isnt any good way to verify it personally... its all trust...

But flat earthers and stuff like that... i just cant get how someone can be that level of stupid...

Apparently it is a conspiracy theory (at least with one person) that nukes dont actually exist and were never used. I mean... i could build you a geiger counter from scratch, i could literally prove nuclear fission with very little parts... how can this stuff even be doubted?

Watched a neighbor freak out walking through an orb weaver web and now I'm wondering if spiders flail around and scream when they brush up against one of our hairs.

ProPublica’s latest story outlined Justice Thomas’s connection with the Koch brothers.

Want to better understand their motives and the breadth of their reach? Our amicus brief discusses how their front groups try to convince the Court to side with the Koch network and polluters.

Hi everyone!
I have been on Mastodon for just a few days with my own personal account, but for a longer while with the one of @lecturerswb , which I invite you to follow! 😉

I am a freelance teacher/coach in science communication (in particular, oral presentations & outreach) and I run a nonprofit aiming to bring science to schools called Lecturers Without Borders 🌍

I look forward to connecting with other science communicators and/or everyone interested in science outreach! 👩‍🔬

Can I tell you a secret?

Come closer.

I AM triggered, actually. I'm emotionally, physically, and spiritually upset by the rampant cruelty, blatant anti-intellectualism, rising violence, and wholehearted embracing of hate and bigotry that is surging across this nation, spurred on by movements that call themselves jingoist, narcissistic phrases like "Make America Great Again", and "Moms for Liberty", and "Proud Boys".

And you know what? I think we SHOULD be alarmed by it. Alarm bells are ringing in my ears. It's not even election year yet and my feet are already turning to run. My hands are already clenching into fists. My dreams are beset nightly by remnants of trauma, dredged up by these racist, misogynist, homophobic, transphobes that are pushing for genocide while calling it patriotism. And I don't want to be the sort of person who ISN'T alarmed by that.

So yeah, MAGAs and other homegrown terrorists, I AM terrified, actually. Your terrorism is having the intended result - terror.

I bet that many more people know about what national polls show for an election 14 months away, esp. today, then there are people who know there’s a Supreme Court race with huge stakes for democracy & voting IN SIX WEEKS in nation’s most critical swing state.

You can help fix that: boltsmag.org/pennsylvania-supr

Talking to a friend who’s in the hospital and had a sign on their door requesting masking, for their safety. Most staff only wore paper masks, if that. (Doctors were worst at masking at all.)

Yesterday friend had a bit of a sore throat, and was immediately COVID tested and now the door sign is “heightened COVID risk” and everyone is wearing N95s on entering.

They’ve decided to have a sore throat until discharge, since apparently the only way to be protected is to pose a risk to the staff.

@GottaLaff It's only fair that California also make it illegal to go out of state to buy guns and ammo, and that they track your phone to see if you do. Then charge you a surtax if necessary.

98% of Arizonans will have new elections officials in 2024 tucsonsentinel.com/local/repor
Arizona has lost nearly all of its experienced election officials and 98% of the state will have new officials running elections in 2024 than ran the 2020 elections, as the state has seen threats of violence towards election officials and those who help administer elections.

The abandoned Paperworks mill in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia, PA. It was once the largest paper manufacturer in the world, and at the time of its closing one of the oldest in the U.S.

Just completed a massive deep dive into its history, which I have never seen in full elsewhere - including two surprisingly dark stories made this more of a macabre past than I anticipated. You can read them (and support my work) on my Patreon: patreon.com/AbandonedAmerica

@ct_bergstrom Border control is one of those things where you don't even need to use marxism to see that it's a fascist institution.

@foone I make a C:\BIN and throw all the random crap in there

#Trump spokesperson: Trump aids and abets a violation of criminal law while out on bail when he bought a gun -- and then retracts and says Trump did not buy a gun.
Time for a grand jury investigation.....how is this not AT LEAST as bad as what Hunter Biden is charged with?

Donald Trump's campaign spokesman tweeting that his boss just committed a federal crime by buying a gun while under felony indictment.

The “guns don't kill people” crowd sure seem to think books can make you gay.

Looks bad but the Supreme Court has made clear, in decisions (Skilling, McDonnell, Percoco) and by conduct (Thomas, Alito), that bribery is legal, so 🤷‍♂️
