My "favourite" thing about this study is the finding that achaeologists who found hunting tools/weapons in women's graves assumed they were kitchen implements.

Like, "well Hans, in this woman's grave, we found what inscriptions at the time have named the Flail of Vengeance. As of right now, we are not sure to what culinary task this tool was turned, but conjecture that it was possibly the preparation of small pies."

Palestinian officials are blaming Israel for the attack and say hundreds of people have been killed. Israel blames Islamic Jihad, saying one of the group's outbound rockets from Gaza misfired and hit the hospital. More in my VOA radio report.

That’s fascism with a smile. I actually make stuff, and help other people make stuff, and genuine optimism (technological or not) looks like community, nurturing, organizing and empowering — not indulging billionaires who profit from genocide.
