"Putin still believes that time is on his side. If he can’t win on the battlefield, he will wait for the democratic world to splinter, and he will encourage that splintering. He will wait for the Ukrainians to grow tired, and he will try to make that happen too. He will wait for Donald Trump to win the 2024 U.S. presidential election, and he will do anything he can to help that happen too."

The Senate Judiciary Committee wants to subpoena Harlan Crow and Leonard Leo due to their influence peddling around Supreme Court justices. But Republicans on the committee are holding things up with multiple amendments and other requests, trying to run out the clock. Republicans care about corruption. They just want to protect their own.
@dougiec3 Calling the US a pure democracy is comical. For starters, the smallest states have 50X the representation in the Senate as the largest, and the Supreme Court acts as a royal court with more power than the other two branches of government combined.
Whenever Republicans lose elections, they start talking about how democracy is bad and what we really need is a feudal alliance of theocrats and wealthy oligarchs telling us what to do.
This is what the GOP Fascist Party does. Nothing matters but what they want, and the only laws, regulations, or votes that apply are those that benefit them. Trump 101.

They're claiming Ohio's new constitutional right to abortion access doesn't repeal the #abortion bans passed by the legislature
Trump tells us what he’s going to do. Pay attention.
Via New Yorker: A signal from #Trump that did not get much attention: “If I happen to be president and I see somebody who’s doing well and beating me very badly, I say, ‘Go down and indict them.' They’d be out of business. They’d be out of the election.”
@SETIEric @NoRezervationz @Yeekasoose @nixCraft The sad thing is that what little is at all visible about it basically triggers "this person is lazy" instincts in people -- and meanwhile we live in a society where people are taught from a very early age to positively abhor even the concept of laziness. (Which, itself is totally wrong, but that's another subject.)
“Trump’s threats to democracy? That’s a harder story to tell. Harder than “Joe Biden is old”. Harder than: “Gosh, America is so polarized.”
Journalists need to figure out a way to communicate it – clearly and memorably.”
“I’m against any person or group who attempts to justify intentionally murdering innocent civilians and then shames anyone who doesn’t just go along with it.
I am in the pocket of Big Civilian.”

On #MSNBC Joy Reid said that if they could capture Nikki Haley's contempt for #VivekRamaswamy it could power a small town.
Funny, but would she try to kill him on stage like Trump did to Biden?
We now know Trump tested positive for #COVID 3 days before the Sept 2020 debate with Biden. This was pre-vaccine. Why wasn't that attempted murder?
The media weren't allowed to know the actual time & date of WHEN Trump was infected as he went & infected others.
