It looks like Grand Marais, Minnesota broke a weather record last night. The low temp was 38°F. As far as I can tell that's the highest low temp in over 100 years of records. It matches the highest low for all of December. This only occurred three other times in December on December 1, 1916, December 15, 1998, and December 28, 1928.

My response is always an emphatic NO. We've already had a rational conversation between 1933 and1939 that resolved nothing so we then had a deadly argument for the next 6 years and the result of THAT was that Nazi's and their ideology can feck right off and die.

We do NOT need to discuss this again.

A fair and important point. The drafters of Section 3 of the 14th Amendment understood why you needed to keep dangerous insurrectionists off the ballot in the first place.

I should be threading all of this, but what makes the "he was just faithfully executing the laws" particularly absurd is that a president has nothing to do with elections.

Nothing. That was intentional.

It's the business of Congress, state governments, and the courts to resolve disputes.

That's because a president may be running for reelection.

The drafters of the Constitution didn't htink of everything, but they thought of that.
