crazy irl fallout from USpol

@c25l@mastodon.sdf.org
Appreciate the request for sources. I didn't have any handy and it's definitely worth pushing back on for sources. I asked someone else here and I think they called me a fascist and blocked me. Wasn't helpful in clearing up what they were saying. If Trump supporters are kidnapping and murdering in the streets, I haven't heard of it, but I don't watch TV or get newspapers, so maybe I've missed it. Anyway... About the non right faking or self inflicting...

I looked and found a few sites that seem to catalog these. One is
fakehatecrimes.org/
Which seems to link to news sites that report on these. It's likely biased in what they list, but they do seem to have a news link for each one.

I haven't read through the media reports for all 341, but it looks like it may be a good list to start from. I wonder if there's an equivalent list for the right.

I don't play rhetorical games with fascists either. Just was asking.

Sadly a strategy on the left as well. Would be nice to get past those things.

Whoah. Trump supporters kidnapping and murdering in the streets? That's crazy.

That seems like it would be on the news. Can you link to a news story about it, even a local one?

Uspol

While Clinton is declaring people must never be civil with those in another political party and Obama's AG is saying that democrats must kick people when they're down, Waters is asking that citizens that disagree with her be made to have no peace at gas stations and restaurants, several Republicans have grown a spine.

One side stands up for the votes they were elected to cast, the other calls for violence until their political opponents are conquered.

This feels different. I suppose both sides are experimenting to see what approach is best at serving their own political power interests.

Protester demands that GOP Senator @BillCassidy "apologize to my children for ruining their futures.”

Cassidy looks at the kids: “Guess what? Your parents are using you as tools. In the future if somebody makes an allegation against you & there’s no proof for it, you'll be OK."

Uspol, left or right?

'When they go low, we kick them' says Attorney General.

“You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for,” says presidential candidate.

These divisive, violent words from party leaders. Democrats or Republicans?

Uspol, midterms, 2020, neverTrump

The handling of Kavanaugh on the left has led to standard bearer and holdout Erik Erikson to prepare to support Trump.

Lots of sad news in uspol this week. A Supreme Court vacancy filled, and unemployment hits the lowest in something like 50 years.

you know what bugs me about tech organizations?

So often the people running them think it's about the tech, not the organization.

Uspol, election enthusiasm down among women on the left...

During Kavanaugh circus, Democrats lose entire enthusiasm edge for midterm elections.

Democrat women agree actually LESS enthusiastic about voting, while Republicans of both genders seem fired up.

From the article : "In July, there was a 10-point gap between the number of Democrats and Republicans saying the November elections were "very important." Now, that is down to 2 points, a statistical tie."

Cushy office perks are a trap.

From the article :

"The office is also a technology, a tool used to help get work done."

“Once you examine these [perks], they look a little less like benefits and more like hooks,”

“If the reason you’re attracted to your employer is that they have free cupcakes, there are a bunch more cultural issues you have to unpack.”
