Nominee: The democrat senators are playing politics by how you've handled the accuser.
Dems/MSNBC: How dare you say the accuser is a liar! How DARE you!
Nominee: I'm angry that I'm being accused of being a rapist.
Dems/Primary Media: How dare you be angry. You should be happy about this. We are happy about this - why aren't you? Not qualified.

CNN Panel just said that GOP could only believe the accuser is lying or insane.
That's not how trauma works; that's not how memory works. Trauma is complex; memories from three and a half decades ago are complex.
Two things can be true: someone can have experienced trauma AND not have accurate memories of it 36 years later.
That doesn't make someone a liar or insane.
In seeking to attack the the other party the democrats and primary media (but I repeat myself) have now labeled everyone with difficult traumatic memories insane. Thanks. That's what we needed.
WHOA. A Mastodon bot @congressedits just caught someone inside the US Congress editing Senator Graham's wikipedia page to insert the senator's home address.

Shocked - just saw Cuomo on CNN point out to a Democrat legislator that she'd already made up her mind, regardless of the circus tomorrow. Least biased 30 seconds I've ever seen from him.
I hardly ever watch news, but from what I've seen to date he's been a joke - a self-denying living breathing democrat talking point.
He left that 30 seconds of valid interviewing and went back to being a single-party talking point. But it was shocking to see that 30 seconds.
diversity (in tech)
@hashtaggrammar
LOL. I like the diversity of haircuts model.
diversity (in tech)
@hashtaggrammar
It blows my mind that someone would exclude people who don't seem to be just like them. My own team is diverse looking, but we were going for diverse thinking, which happened in this case to create a diverse looking team.
I think if we aim for a diverse looking team is easy to seek a team with no diversity of thought. But we feel virtuous because we have the form of diversity regardless of substance.
To me its a form VS substance issue. If we go for the substance (diverse thinking) we'll often get diverse appearance /form. I don't think we get diverse thought just by hiring people that appear different.
Tech is known as being far left ideologically, and taking those who don't fall in line with same thinking out back and beating them (figuratively).
It's rich to have that same group claim to be the champion of diversity in thought.
CWed for Length: About Bill Cosby and Cognitive dissonance.
@Surasanji @hashtaggrammar I suppose it changed his public image to some; you're right.
But his actions killed a woman, something Cosby never did. Cosby goes to jail, Ted was upheld as the "Lion of the Senate," among the best of the best in government.
True, he didn't become president. I suppose Cosby won't become president either, so jail vs. being upheld as one of the best people in politics is basically the same. :/

Heard a speaker at #dreamforce18 yesterday say that we need to focus on diversity of thought - so hire people who look different.
I disagree with the underlying presumption that people who look the same must think the same. Isn't that to say: What you amount to, and what you think, are determined by your race/gender/appearance, etc.?

Yes, I think it's a good reminder to be wary of actors and Hollywood and public figures in general. While Cosby was on trial for using his public personality to gain trust from others, we had a video being produced by actors, using their public personalities to gain trust and try to influence the supreme court justice.
This happens regularly, sometimes as severe as crimes, sometimes to change elections, etc.
Strangely, one's personal crimes don't always affect one's public image - see Chappaquiddick.

@Surasanji I really want to disagree with you - I think the character on the Cosby show can still be a good role model even if the actor wasn't...
But I had bought the first few seasons of the Cosby show on DVD just before the allegations came out... and haven't watched any of them yet. Just saw a news clip of Cosby being led out in cuffs that makes it more difficult to think of the role he played as separate from what he evidently did and from what's happening now.

GOP is going to "peddle in a girl because that's more sensitive".
How dismissive of a woman who seems to be qualified expert.
If the us-left brings forth a female, it's brave, it's groundbreaking. If the us-right brings forth a female, they're "peddling in a girl". #msnbc

I'm interested in being just not civil, but excellent in interacting with others of different viewpoints in an online world where we can so viciously defend our echo chambers and be so dismissive of other perspectives.
