I don't know why it's not loading... It isn't for me either from my toot. Here's what still works in my browser...
Here's an article that links to it in case that link still doesn't work
https://www.dailywire.com/news/38765/what-gender-gap-women-are-now-majority-stem-grads-ashe-schow
Women are majority of STEM grad students and they earn a majority of STEM bachelor's degrees - and have since 2004
Whoever defines the categories defines who is a bigot, who is a victim, who is an oppressor, with measures like this.
From the article : "By several measures, there really is no STEM gender gap in higher education. There are now more women than men earning STEM bachelor's degrees and there are more women than men enrolled in STEM graduate programs for master's and doctoral degrees.
... according to several measures, women are actually slightly over-represented in STEM graduate programs and earn a majority of STEM college degrees. A lot depends on how we define “Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)” and that definition is fairly fluid and subject to various interpretations. "
What would we toot about if we focused on what really matters, rather than what's currently in the sensationalized news. (CW for length)
Thinking Fast and Slow speaks to the Availability Heuristic - we care more about issues that are presented to us and are available in recent memory even if they're objectively less important than other issues we know about but aren't as readily available to our thinking. The press we expose ourselves to determines what we think is important.
I didn't get all the way through Thinking Fast and Slow before I had to returned it to the library, but it's fascinating and I look forward to finishing it - and likely re-reading it.

@NPR this is excellent news, like when left coast tech companies choose to voluntarily sponsor climate stuff or fund their local failing public schools or homeless needs in their failing cities.
Even the big government left can see that it doesn't require federal or global policy to make a change, we all can at the individual, community, corporate and local government levels.
Certainly the only people upset about tear gas at the border are those who were outraged when it was used monthly under Obama, as this is just a continuation of the Obama policy. Link and excerpts from source CW for length
Obama administration used tear gas at border once a month
The same tear gas agent that the Trump administration is taking heat for deploying against a border mob this weekend is actually used fairly frequently — including more than once a month during some years under President Obama, according to Homeland Security data.
“The facts are, the policy written under President Obama allows us to use tear gas to disperse a crowd that was very dangerous,” he told the network.

So yet again we have outrage at Trump for doing what Obama did. I don't know that you're seeing things clearly if things are always okay for "us" to do but bad for "them" to do.
@peterdrake
I think Trump is the anti Obama. I think it was Obama who started with the term "Fake News" and Obama did a lot against the minority in the media who did what he disliked.
Your objections to Trump may be right on. I don't see these as new with Trump. It may be a difference in degree, not a difference of kind. Perhaps he's primarily a pendulum swing from Obama.
@peterdrake
I think the contrast is the press under the last president VS the press under the current. They're doing different jobs. It's life two different realities. When someone asked Obama a tough question, he berated them, told them it was his house and they could get out, their further attempts to ask questions were drowned out in the media pool, by the media folks present, by rally style chants of "Obama, Obama, Obama". It's a whole different world when the media is in protection and promotion mode vs when they're in their current mode.
It would seem much less biased if they did the same thing with each president, but they don't.
Obama did praise Iran and did criticize the Supreme Court, Trump evidently praised Saudi Arabia and criticized a lower court. Let's just be fair and say both were a problem or neither were. It appears that #noBias means : whatever my guy does is good, whatever the other guy does is bad. I just see that as biased.
Love that there's #noBias here. I'm sure they contrasted the previous presidents praise for Iran against his attacks against the courts and police. Where was that...will report back when I find that unbiased reporting...
@doctorow
I think there's a fundamental difference in what people mean by a "right" and whether it means you are free from others imposing on you or whether it means you impose on others.
If you have a right to free speech, for example, it puts no obligation on me except perhaps tolerating, ignoring your speech. Your right is not an imposition on me requiring me to do something for you to retain your right. If I do nothing, your rights are not violated. Your rights do not enslave me.
If you have a right to a product or service, then it's an obligation on me to provide services to you. If I do nothing, I'm now guilty of violating your rights. Your rights now enslave me.
I tend to be in favor of rights that don't enslave the population.
Dear everyone.
The world is not that dangerous. Each decade has seen more and more peace come to more people than ever in history.
This is not opinion. This is fact. People are living longer. People are dying less.
The news dramatizes danger in order to sell you their products. Never forget this.
There are millions upon millions of kind people all over the world. Some of them live near you, most don't. It helps to keep this in mind.
