30 years ago, one decision altered the course of our connected world

On April 30, 1993, the World Wide Web was released into the public domain. It revolutionized the internet and allowed users to create websites filled with graphics, audio and hyperlinks.

Just a white liberal in my white liberal echo chamber lamenting the fact that conservatives live in an echo chamber.

Neil Gorsuch Has Joined the Supreme Court Ethics Scandal Party

The head of a law firm that practices before the court bought property from the conservative justice nine days after he was confirmed

Thomas is not alone. Supreme Court Justice Gorsuch has also benefitted financially from parties with an interest in the high court’s business while neglecting to disclose it

Tucker’s gone, but will they scrub this abuse from their website? From just a month ago:

“... How, for example, did senile hermit Joe Biden get 15 million more votes than his former boss, rock star, crowd surfer Barack Obama?...Was the 2020 election a miracle? Honestly, we don't know and we don't expect to get an answer to it tonight...”

That’s just the beginning of a 13 minute stream of effluent.

I’m at peak WTF watching MSNBC and Steve Kornacki doing election night commentary based on a poll regarding an election 19 months away. 🤬🤢🤮

Remember when the term “paradigm shift” was a thing? It’s an important term to revisit with the current state of gender politics because we’re in the middle of a Copernican, sexual revolution. We are witnessing a historic shift of a religious mentality clinging to a “geocentric” view of sexuality (binary male/female) and struggling to deny the more precise (factual) “heliocentric” view of sexuality (a yummy spectrum of freedom).

I’ve never seen a successful wager that disfavors science.

CNN and MSNBC are spending at least 10 minutes each going on and on about a ONE (one fucking poll!) poll saying Biden shouldn’t run for president. An election that isn’t going to fucking happen for a fucking year and a half!!!

I wish they’d spend that much time dragging that little cunt Tucker, Carlson.

… and as a result, Fox is paying over three quarters of a billion dollars. Right? What if Dominion went to trial and the jury found in their favor, then felt fair damages was $20 million?

This is a civil lawsuit. This settlement is fucking unreal. They did very well. Dominion doesn’t owe anyone except their shareholders anything, for better or worse. That’s how it works.

I hope good screenwriter turns the Dominion v Fox depositions into a movie treatment. That would be more satisfying than a jury award.

Musk is a steeming pile, but if we as a society depend on a private organization to provide us with public safety, then that’s on us.

Look how fast the United States government springs into action if you aren’t rich and you lack political power

Even Merrick Garland came out of his hidey-hole to make a statement

So, Jack Teixeira gets to await trial at Mar-a-Lago where he can sell state secrets he took, right?

A CNN pundit just characterized the mifepristone decision as “questioning the integrity of the FDA process.”

Seems more accurate to say that the decision questions the integrity of the judge that made the decision.

RT @SIfill_
The stunning reporting from Pro Publica merits a response from the Supreme Court. Not from Justice Thomas, but from the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. These are serious revelations which further imperil the integrity of the Court. Silence is not an option.

Gun protesters should be using the same tactics as abortion protesters.

I often drive by a Planned Parenthood clinic where abortion protesters occasionally carry blown up photos of aborted fetuses. Like it or not, this tactic is effective. Gun protesters should absolutely adopt it. Horrific photos of gunshot victims should be rubbed in the faces of NRA convention goers, gun shop visitors, and Republican congressman. Ruthlessly

Sorry Elon. Turns out the woke mind virus didn’t turn San Francisco into the crime ridden Communist haven that killed Bob Lee. Turns out Bob Lee was killed by another tech bro.

Some folks might be thinking, “Unlike the Fediverse, Substack gives writers an opportunity to get paid.”

Not so fast.

When @TexasObserver was nearly shut down because they lacked funding for operations, they turned to the Fediverse for help.

Within 48 hours, we helped them raise $250,000 in funding—and now that 70-year-old newspaper still lives.

As a result 17 journalists still have their jobs.

54 percent...

“The latest polling (4/11/23) from KFF finds a majority (54%) of U.S. adults have either personally or had a family member who has been impacted by a gun-related incident, such as witnessing a shooting, being threatened by gun, or being injured or killed by a gun.”

Celebrating my 34th year of not going to Easter mass at the Catholic Church that harbored one of the, who knows how many, child molesters that scarred my oldest brother for life.

Sadly remembering my devout mother that continued to tithe that criminal enterprise $20 a week because her blind faith was coerced by fear since birth.

Screw all that resurrection nonsense. Spring has sprung and the world is so beautiful it hurts!
